SEAA celebrates fourth SG Real Estate Agents Excellence Awards
in 18 monthsAt this year’s Singapore Estate Agents Association (SEAA) SG Real Estate Agents Excellence Awards 2023, more than 670 local real estate salespersons were recognised for their outstanding sales performance and ethical conduct. The awards, which first started four years ago, were hosted on Aug 18 at Marina Bay Sands.As a result of the large scale of the event, two separate awards ceremonies were held. The first session honoured individual recipients of the Salespersons Achievement Award (Silver) and the Salespersons Achievement Award (Gold). Those receiving the Silver award had to have a gross commission between $100,000– $199,999 in the calendar year of 2022, while for the Gold, it was commissions from $200,000 to $400,000.
In the evening, awards were presented to superior awardees. These included Salespersons Achievement Award (Platinum), Salespersons Achievement Award (Diamond), Outstanding Youths Award, and Rookies Award. The criteria for the Platinum category entailed a gross commission of between $400,001–$999,999, and for the Diamond, commissions of $1 million and over.
Professor Mhd Faishal Ibrahim, Minister of State, Ministry of National Development and Ministry of Home Affairs, was the guest of honour at the awards ceremony. He made a speech, commending home buyers for their trust in professional agents for much needed information. He also highlighted the need for agents to act in the buyers’ interest and advise them to make financially sound decisions.
Adam Wang, president of SEAA, explains the importance of the event. “Recognising exemplary salespersons for their professionalism, values and sales achievements are vital for the industry. It builds consumer trust through ethical conduct, nurturing lasting relationships and repeat business,” he says.
Edmund Toh, CEO of SEAA, remarks on the dedication of all the recipients. “All recipients this year demonstrate a blend of tenacity, adaptability, and client-centric focus. Their commitment to continuous learning, embracing technology, and nurturing relationships underscores their success. A strong ethical compass, effective communication, and resilience stand out as common threads,” he says.
Wang further explains SEAA’s commitment to the salespersons. “As the largest industry representative body for real estate salespersons in Singapore, SEAA acts as a unified voice to represent the interests of this group. SEAA’s commitment to all salespersons is evident in its advocacy for equitable industry practices. Notably, its dispute resolution channel partner [Singapore Mediation Centre] fills a crucial gap by addressing commission-related conflicts that fall outside the Council for Estate Agencies’ scope,” he expresses.
Toh adds further initiatives by SEAA to improve the industry. “Our initiatives amplify the voices of agents, enhance industry standards and solidify its vital position within the real estate community. Agents who are SEAA members can seek assistance from us as we are working on ways to resolve co-broking disputes amongst salespersons. Active participation in SEAA’s networking events offers agents a platform to voice concerns, share insights, and network with peers,” he explains.

To further amplify the voices of agents, SEAA works on resolving commission-related conflicts that fall outside the Council for Estate Agencies’ scope. Agents can also actively participate in SEAA’s networking events to share insights and network with peers.
