Samwoh Corp submits top bid rent of $319,000month for SLA tender 26 Evans Rd
Local construction company Samwoh Corporation placed the highest bid for the lease of a state-owned property at 26 Evans Road. The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) revealed that 25 bids were received before the tender closed on Wednesday, October 11.
On the same day as the tender for 26 Evans Road was launched on August 16, SLA also awarded a heritage property at 79 to 95 Hindoo Road to local construction company Eco-Energy and homegrown co-living operator Cove Living. This particular tender was the result of SLA’s drive to meet the rising demand for co-living spaces in Singapore.
The property at 26 Evans Road is made up of eight buildings in total, ranging between three to one storeys in height. In addition, 56 carpark lots are included in the tenancy. The properties have a gross floor area of 69,593 sq ft and will be leased on a 5+4 year tenure.
According to the tender application page, the monthly bids ranged from $319,000 to $63,000. Bid evaluation will not only take the rental price into account, but also the quality of the concept and creativity of the proposal.
The second highest bid came from Cover Projects, a local turnkey solutions provider, with a monthly rent of $265,000. Eco-Energy submitted a bid of $178,000/month while LHN Group, who manage the Coliwoo co-living brand, placed a bid of $165,000.
Another co-living operator who made an offer was The Assembly Place’s entity TAP Colivings, who proposed a monthly rent of $168,000.
